Shawn Mcquistin

I have 6+ years coaching minor hockey from the Atom - Bantam level at both the C and Rep level. I have also coached spring hockey for the last 4 years.

What is your hockey background?

I grew up playing my minor hockey in Richmond BC, and continue to play when I can. 

How long have you been involved with Richmond Hockey (RMHA, Seafair) minor hockey? 

I have been with Seafair Minor now for the past 6 years. 

How do people describe you?

People usually describe me as dedicated, hard working and always at the rink. I have a tremendous love for the game and love to give back. I find a way to connect with all the kids at every level. If I am not at work I am usually at the rink.

What are you most passionate about in hockey?

Being able to give back and see the kids develop on and off the ice.

What brings you to the rink day in and day out?

My Love for the game, I love coming to rink on my off days to pick up tips from other coaches and check in on kids I use to coach. 

What is your approach to coaching?

My approach to coaching is to create a family like environment on my teams. One that makes the kids want to come to the rink and work hard and get better.  

Anything else you'd like to tell people about yourself?

I am thrilled and excited to be apart of the new association and to grow the game in the city I grew up in. I cant wait to get started and to get back to the rink and meet all the 

new kids and create a year to remember.
